Position Summary
The Energy Services Director is responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth within Brenntag’s energy services and specialty chemicals portfolio in Brazil. This role focuses on delivering value-added solutions to industrial customers by combining Brenntag’s chemical distribution capabilities with energy optimization, process efficiency, and sustainability offerings.
The position plays a key role in strengthening Brenntag’s position as a trusted solutions partner, leveraging global expertise, local market knowledge, and a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and ESG principles.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with Brenntag’s regional growth targets and sector priorities
- Drive profitable growth by expanding existing accounts and acquiring new customers in key industries (e.g., oil & gas, power, mining, manufacturing)
- Position Brenntag as a partner of choice for integrated chemical and energy service solutions
Customer Engagement & Value Selling
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key customers, acting as a trusted advisor
- Identify customer needs and deliver value-added solutions focused on optimizing energy usage, improving processes, and reducing environmental impact
- Promote Brenntag’s portfolio including specialty chemicals, technical services, and energy-related solutions
Solution Development & Technical Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with technical, product management, and operations teams to design tailored customer solutions
- Support development and commercialization of innovative offerings aligned with energy efficiency and sustainability trends
- Ensure solutions meet Brenntag’s high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight
- Monitor market developments, including customer trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in Brazil
- Provide insights to leadership to support portfolio development and strategic decision-making
- Identify opportunities in renewable energy, decarbonization, and industrial efficiency
Commercial Execution & Performance Management
- Lead pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements in line with Brenntag’s governance framework
- Manage sales pipeline, forecasting, and reporting using CRM tools
- Ensure delivery of sales targets while maintaining strong margin performance
Cross-Functional Leadershi
- Work in a matrix organization, collaborating with regional and global teams
- Partner with supply chain, finance, and HSE teams to ensure seamless and compliant execution
- Champion Brenntag’s culture of safety, integrity, and customer focus
Qualifications & Experience / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or related fiel
- MBA or equivalent is a plus
Experience
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in chemical distribution, energy services, or industrial B2B sales
- Proven success in solution selling and key account management
- Experience operating in Brazil’s industrial sectors and commercial environment
Technical & Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of chemical applications and industrial processes
- Familiarity with energy efficiency, utilities optimization, or related services is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Brazil’s regulatory and business landscape
Skills & Competencies
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Customer-centric mindset with a consultative selling approach
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global organization
- High level of accountability, integrity, and ownership
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus).
