Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting & Tax Manager to lead our Accounting and Tax department, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and tax management while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial strategy, strengthening internal controls, optimizing accounting and tax processes, and leading a high-performing team.

Position Purpose
The Accounting & Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and tax activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and Group policies, delivering accurate financial reporting, promoting tax efficiency, and leading strategic initiatives that enhance operational performance and business results.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Lead and oversee the Accounting and Tax departments, ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Support budgeting activities and monitor financial performance against budget, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, IFRS/CPC requirements, and Group policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring effective implementation of recommendations.
Tax Management & Compliance
- Manage all corporate tax activities, including tax calculations, filings, payments, and reporting.
- Develop and implement tax planning initiatives aimed at optimizing the company’s tax position.
- Maintain strong relationships with tax authorities and support tax audits alongside Legal and external advisors.
- Monitor legislative changes to ensure ongoing compliance with tax regulations.
- Handle tax inquiries and correspondence with government authorities.
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Lead the integration and optimization of accounting processes across business units, identifying synergies and automation opportunities.
- Strengthen internal controls across Finance functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Accounting & Tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
Management Scope
- Leadership of a large Accounting & Tax team.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Operations, Legal, and senior leadership.
- Management of strategic accounting, tax, and financial projects.
- Close interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
Profile Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (active CRC required).
- MBA or postgraduate qualification is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial position within Accounting and Tax.
- Previous experience in the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, IFRS/CPC, financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax regulations.
- Experience with SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent English and Portuguese.
- Availability to travel regularly between São Paulo and Santos offices.
